Artwork In brief
Futuro Noir embraces the dramatic black-and-white aesthetic of film noir and takes it to a sci-fi setting. The artwork consists of over 50 cinematic scenes and a film trailer, that evolves into parody, highlighting the limitations of AI-generated videos. The collection of 50+ images creates a moody and bleak retro-futuristic world, serving as a moodboard for a film that never was.
Parody film trailer ”Futuro Noir” subtly ridicules the shortcomings of AI-generated videos. It begins with epic galactic scenes, but it quickly becomes evident that there’s no real story or characters—just an absurd retro sci-fi spectacle of black and white pixels dancing on the screen.
Given the inherent randomness of AI video generation, creating convincing long-form storytelling with consistent characters, believable action, and logically coherent details remains a significant challenge. Looking at today’s AI video landscape, many films fall short: while they may craft immersive cinematic realms and breathtaking special effects, their clumsy plots and actions often lack credibility.
Futuro Noir bypasses these pitfalls by taking an experimental approach, discarding characters, dialogue, and plot altogether. Instead, it focuses on absurd obsession for noir in futuristic settings and the sheer visual allure of black and white pixels. Through this approach, it encourages us to ponder the disconnect between the striking aesthetic appeal of AI-driven creations and their lack of narrative substance.
