Type Monsters / field guide
A living alphabet
Every letter is a faceted monster with a temper and a voice of its own. Type, and they take the stage to spell your words. Poke one and it answers back.
Type
Anything. Capitals are the grown-ups — bigger, and lower-voiced.
⌘B
Bold — everyone bulks up, spikes out.
⌘I
Italic — the whole line lunges forward.
↵
Play the word — every monster makes its noise in turn, on a little tune of its own.
Poke
Click a monster to hear it. Keep poking and it gets cross.
Words
Some make things happen: hello, boo, party, dance, night, snow, love, fire, jump…
Games
Anagrams — rearrange the monsters into a new word. Word Ladder — change one letter at a time, every step a real word. Monster Simon — listen to the band, then echo it back. Monster Wordle — a daily five-letter word, acted out by monsters. Monster Bee, Word Hunt and Big Score — word-building puzzles. Rescue Rush, Stampede and Impostor — fast reflexes. Boss Fight — type down a giant monster. Word Chain and Word Bomb — take on the monsters. Pick them from the Games menu.
Titles
Title Studio turns your text into an animated title: choose how the monsters arrive, what they do, how they leave and how the camera moves, or let the Director cut between wides, mediums and close-ups. Export an H.264 .mp4 of the scene, or a transparent QuickTime .mov, with the monsters' sound, for Final Cut Pro, Premiere or Resolve.
Worlds
Switch between the Studio, the Crystal Cavern, the Lakeside and the Highlands from the top bar, and pick the time of day.
